As part of Humboldt Week in the Engineering department at Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, I will be teaching a 3-hour gelatin printing workshop. Together we will print with real plant specimens and ink in a process that mimics the record-keeping of Alexander von Humboldt. I will talk about my use of his records in my book The Adventures of Alexander von Humboldt and how we can all learn to appreciate nature through art.
